Message from the Coordinator

Welcome to SLANGO's website. It is with humility tinged with pride that we launch this new website as a portal to assist our local and international NGO's in accessing information and services to facilitate their work on the ground in the delivery of services and the development of our country.

The portal has been conceived of in the context of being both user friendly and informative. You will find links to other agencies websites, educational and informative pages as well as contact information of key staff in SLANGO. We hope to provide you with news and regular features on the activities of SLANGO and our constituent organisations on a regular basis.

We consider this portal to be a work in progress and your suggestions and input are always welcome.

The Sierra Leone Association of Non Governmental Organizations (SLANGO) is a consortium of NGOs , both indigenous and foreign, whose primary role is to ensure cooperation among its members. SLANGO also serves as a unified voice of the NGO community in Sierra Leone. It forms the link between NGOs, government institutions and donor agencies and promotes the interest of its constituents.

SLANGO exists to:

Coordinate NGO activities in Sierra Leone	Facilitates contacts between NGOs and prospective donor agencies
Acts as an accrediting body for NGOs	Advocacy on behalf of NGOs
Facilitating networking and cooperation amongst NGOs and fostering solidarity amongst them	Collect , store and disseminate information relevant to the NGO community
Liaises with government departments on behalf of the NGO community	Strengthen the capacity of NGOs through training workshops, seminars, exchange visits and consultation
